For this week's interview, we decided to continue introducing the players that joined our Club in the Summer Transfer Market. This week it is Alejandro Mendoza's turn to tell us more about his adventure with our Club.

Who is Alejandro Mendoza?

Well my name is Alejandro Mendoza Corujo, and I am 26 years old. I was born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain, where I have lived most of my life. And as for my character, I consider myself a very quiet boy who has a hard time getting angry.

What is your marital status? Are you married? Do you have kids?

I am currently unattached, and no, I have no children.

How do you spend your day regularly?

Apart from training with the team, I like to fill the free time with activities. Now I am studying for a Masters, and I try to go a little to the gym to improve my fitness. And the rest of the time I have left, I spent reading or surfing the internet.

How do you spend your weekends?

If the weather is good, I like going to the beach, or go out with some friends to eat.

What are your main hobbies besides football?

I like sports in general, because I like to be active, but I also love reading and movies.

What is your favourite food?

I have no favourite food, I like to try everything, I'm a good eater!

What is your favourite kind of music?

I do not know what to say, as with food, I like to hear a little of everything. But to name a few groups to get an idea I like Ben Harper, Kings of Leon, Jason Mraz ...

Do you have a favourite quote or motto?

No, at the moment I have no motto by which to abide.

Are you superstitious?

No, I'm not.

What motivates you most in life?

My biggest motivation in life is to enjoy it, doing things to which I'm devoted.

Do you follow international football? If yes, which is your favourite nation when it comes to football, and which is your favourite club?

Oddly enough I'm not much into following football. I am content to be follow the team I currently play for.

Who is your favourite player? Why?

When I was little I loved Laudrup, because for me he was magic on the field.

What is your biggest fear on the pitch?

That I disappoint my teammates.

Can you tell us a bit about your experiences before joining our Club?

For eleven years I grew up and played football in a field near my house, until I was 19 years old, then I joined C.D. Tenerife, in the C team. I was there for 6 years, in which I got to become the captain of the B team, and debut with the first team in the second Division Spanish. Last year, I joined the Conquense Segunda B, although I did not finish the season with them. In February I moved to Atlético Granadilla. And finally, I ended up in the ranks of the Birkirkara.

Why did you decide to join Birkirkara FC?

For a couple of years I wanted to have the experience of playing overseas, but could not. But this year, I met a player, Jorge Mora, who played for Birkirkara years ago and spoke highly of the club and put me in touch with them, so I did not think and I came.

Had you ever heard of Malta? Did you ever imagine you would be playing here?

I had heard of Malta as a tourist destination, but as an option to play football I only started considering it last year.

Are you having communication problems? Is language being a big problem?

At the moment I am using the little English I learned in high school. I also know some Italian. But I hope to improve both over time.

Who is your best team mate?

All are good companions, but I spend much more time with Joselito and Jhonnattann because we train together.

How are you feeling with the Club? Have you settled in?

From the moment I arrived I felt very comfortable, they are very kind to me and I have integrated very quickly.

What are your comments about the match against Floriana?

Before playing, we mentioned that it would be a very difficult game, a good test to see our level. As demonstrated in the first half, Floriana proved us right. They pressed a lot, but in the second half they reduced their level a bit and we took advantage.

How do you describe your performances so far?

I've always been very hard on myself, and I think I can always improve, but so far I have not been too bad.

How are you preparing for the next game against Sliema Wanderers?

We are preparing to leverage our strengths and looking for what may be the weaknesses of the opponent. Since we played them in the final of the AME Cup, and were very tough and hard to beat.

What are your targets and the club's targets for this season?

My personal goals are always to be a little better as a player and to help my teammates to get the best results. As for the goals of the club, expect to work hard to fight for being the best.

Do you have a message for the supporters?

Well thank you for the support you have given us so far, and I encourage you to go on like this, because support is very important for us. I hope we can return that support by winning so that you can be proud of us.
