Yosimar Gonzalez Hernandez joins Birkirkara FC

by Ivan Mizzi - 30th November 2012

Birkirkara FC continued to strengthen its squad with the Spanish forward Yosimar Gonzalez Hernandez being the latest acquisition to join our Club, on an amateur status.

Yosimar, aged 24, is best described as a utility player as he can play either on the right or on the left wing, while he can also play as a second striker. He is best known for his technique and speed, besides his powerful shot.

He is an UD Tegueste's product and has had several experiences in the second and third division in his native Spain. He had played for CD Tenerife, with Alejandro Mendoza. The two are now reunited at Birkirkara FC. His last experience was with Atletico Granadilla, which he joined last season. In this 2012-2013 season, he managed to score four goals.

Yosimar was released by Granadilla last Saturday and this enabled him to join our Club.

Yosimar will be the seventh foreigner for ‘The Stripes' as he will join his former team mate and countryman Alejandro Mendoza, the Brazilian trio, Jhonnattann Benites, Joselito Dos Reis and Rodrigo Pereira along with Serbian Nikola Vukanac and Nigerian Shola Shodiya.

Yosimar has been registered with the MFA and is eligible to play in Saturday's important clash in the third round of the U*BET FA Trophy against Tarxien Rainbows.

We would like to welcome Yosimar and wish him all the best of luck with our Club.
