Birkirkara FC parts ways with Nikola Vukanac

by Ivan Mizzi - 2nd August 2013

Serbian defender Nikola Vukanac will be seeking to continue his playing career outside of Malta.

This will bring to an end Vukanac's four year spell with our Club where in his first year with the Club in 2010, and then in 2013, Birkirkara managed to clinch the Premier League title.

During his four-year spell with our Club, Nikola made 81 appearances in the Premier League competition and managed to score eleven goals, seven of them in the last memorable season.

Vukanac's most memorable goal with our Club was in the second round of the 2010-2011 UEFA Champions League when in the first leg of the second round, Nikola's goal after just forty-seven seconds helped Birkirkara to register their first victory ever in the second round of the competition, and to be the first Maltese Club to do so.

We would like to thank Nikola for his excellent service towards our Club, while we wish him all the best of luck in his future, both personally and in his playing career.
