Women's Team aim to extend winning streak

by Ayrton Galea - 25th February 2014

Birkirkara FC Women's Team will be seeking to extend their positive run this evening when they take on Mgarr United FC.

Birkirkara will be hoping to extend their winning streak and maintain their leadership in the BOV Women's First Division League this evening, but the Stripes should be wary of Mgarr United who might be tricky to overcome.

Birkirkara are enjoying a winning streak of seven matches in the Women's League and in their last outing, they gave an excellent performance to beat Gozo with a comfortable 4-1 score thanks to a couple of braces by Raina Giusti and Rachel Cuschieri.

On the other hand, Mgarr are currently sharing the third place on the twenty-one point mark with Gozo, but Mgarr have today's game in hand. So far, they picked up seven victories and in their last match they were defeated by Hibernians with a 3-1 score despite giving a good performance.

In the first round match, Birkirkara managed to overcome the resilient challenge of Mgarr and emerged victorious with a narrow 2-1 score.

The match will be played at the Charles Abela Stadium in Mosta and is scheduled to kick-off at 20:15.

Come on the Stripes!
