Birkirkara FC Women's Team made another important signing, when they acquired the services of the German midfielder, Hanna Tegelmann.

Twenty-one year old Hanna, was born on the 6 December 1992. She can be best described as a strong midfielder, with an excellent vision of the match. Hanna has been training with our Club for the last three weeks and she impressed Coach Johann Scicluna enough to offer her the opportunity to join our Club.

We talked with Hanna about her decision to join our Club. She said , “Birkirkara is very close to where I live in Malta. Apart from this, I got the impression that the Club does quite a lot for women's football which shouldn't be taken for granted. I also know that Birkirkara FC is one of the most successful clubs in Malta with high ambitions.”

From Germany to Malta, the former FFC Heike Rheine player is enjoying her stay in Malta. “It is my first time here and my first impressions is very positive. It is a beautiful island with interesting places to visit, always on the sunny side of life, and the people are mostly friendly and helpful.”

When asked if she feels that she has settled in with our Club she replied, “Yes, all in all I am settled in. The team is in good mood and helped me with the translation which facilitates the settling-in phase. Hence; thanks to everyone, I feel very good and welcome. For me, it is always fun to play football so I am grateful to have the opportunity to train on a regular basis here.”

All the paperwork has been registered with the MFA and Hanna will be available for BOV Women's Super Cup against Hibernians. We talked with her about this match, and she is already looking forward to make her debut. “I am very excited to get to know another football culture and to strive after high goals with the team. It is meant to be a tough season, because there are many good teams; but I believe that we have a strong team as well. I am definitely looking forward for the Super Cup. A final is always a special match and it would be great if we can start with winning the first trophy of the season.”

Finally, Hanna said. “I hope that I can help the Club to achieve its aims and to play as successful as possible with the team. It would be great if we can be even better than last season even though that will be very difficult.”

We would like to welcome Hanna while wishing her all the best of luck with our Club.
