Birkirkara face Mosta in the match of the week

by Ayrton Galea - 28th September 2014

After last week's win, Birkirkara FC will be hoping to build some momentum, when this evening they will face a stern test in the form of Mosta FC, who are as yet unbeaten in this league campaign.

Birkirkara opened the league campaign with three wins, partly due to the influence of the signing of new foreign players. However, the Stripes fell to the first defeat in a dramatic way against Balzan with a 3-2 score, before winning with a 2-0 result in the last match against Qormi.

Today's match is considered as one of the toughest task that Birkirkara will have in the BOV Premier League as Mosta are filled with optimism following an impressive start of four wins and a draw.

They have defeated Valletta in the opening match, and then Pieta Hotspurs and Zebbug Rangers. They were held in a 1-1 draw against Naxxar before beating Balzan with a 1-0 score in their last match. Six goals scored and just one conceded, the Blues are so far the best defence of the Premier League and they are considered as potential title challengers.

The match will be played at the National Stadium and is scheduled to kick off at 19:00, and not at 18:00 as announced previously.

Come on the Stripes!
