Stripes to face Hibernians

by Ayrton Galea - 3rd May 2015

Birkirkara FC will be seeking to make sure of finishing the BOV Premier League at least in the third place when this evening they take on the newly-crowned Champions, Hibernians FC.

The Stripes, laying five points under Valletta but with a game in hand, must win this evening to keep alive their hopes of ending the league campaign in the second place. In the final match-day, the Stripes take on Balzan while Valletta face Hibernians.

Birkirkara saw their eighteen-match unbeaten run come to an end last Saturday when a goal ten minutes from time saw Valletta emerge as winners in a direct clash for the second place who overcome the same Birkirkara with two points.

On the other hand, despite having the title under wrap, the Paolites will be all-out to return to winning ways after their unbeaten run of thirty matches was halted with a surprising 3-1 defeat against Balzan FC. For Hibernians, this was a disappointing result as they were aspiring to an unbeaten league campaign.

Hibernians' goalkeeper Henry Bonello will be suspended for tonight's match after being sent-off in their last match against Balzan.

The match will be played at the National Stadium and is scheduled to kick off at 19:00.

Come on the Stripes!
