Birkirkara FC Under-19's Team showed great fighting spirit to come back from one-goal behind three times in the match to take one point in an entertaining 3-3 goal against Sliema Wanderers FC.

The Stripes enjoyed a positive opening in the Youths League Section A with a narrow victory to Balzan FC but they were downed by Pieta Hotspurs FC with a late goal. However, on Monday evening, they registered the first draw of the league.

Sliema Wanderers took the lead after just one minute but the Stripes reacted strongly. They took control of the match and on the twenty-second minute, they scored the equalizing goal thanks to a wonderful strike by Neil Micallef with a shot from around forty-meters.

The Wanderers regained the lead against the run of the play near the half-hour mark. The Stripes levelled matters once again when Zack Cassar's vision led to a perfect pass by the Birkirkara Captain to Alessio Azzopardi who scored his first goal. However, just before half-time, Sliema made them 3-2 to end the first fourty-five minutes in the lead.

The second half proved to be a very balanced half as well with actions from both sides notably Nick Borg free kick saved by Aquilina and Sansone's free kick that hit the post for Sliema. The Stripes managed to grab a well-deserved draw in the last eight minutes of the game when a good run through the middle by Nick Borg ended with the ball in the net for a deserved point.
