Under-17's Team in a goal-less draw against San Gwann

Birkirkara FC Under-17's Team started their commitments in the APS Bank Under-17's League Section A with a goal-less draw against San Gwann FC.

The Stripes held the initiative in the first half but found the San Gwann defence a hard nut to crack. The best opportunity to break the deadlock came in Birkirkara's way as Ayrton Attard dribbled a couple of opponents and squared the ball to Michele Vella who hit high.

In the second half the stripes had a Paul Mbong shot which was parried by the San Gwann goalkeeper and a header by Karl Caruana which went over the bar. Neil Friggieri had his header following a corner ending wide and the same player hit high following a lay off pass from Paul Mbong.
