Birkirkara FC part ways with Drazen Besek

by Ivan Mizzi - 6th December 2016

Birkirkara FC has reached an agreement with the Club's Head Coach Drazen Besek to part ways.

The fifty-three year old Croatian coach joined our Club mid-way through last season, taking over from Giovanni Tedesco, and led the team to the third place in the league, six points behind crowned Champions Valletta and four behind Hibernians.

Besek led the team to a historical achievement in the UEFA Europa League, when this summer, Birkirkara FC wrote a new page in Maltese Football by qualifying for the third round in the competition, after eliminating NK Siroki Brijeg of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Hearts of Midlothian FC of Scotland.

We would like to thank Drazen for his service to our Club, while we would like to wish him all the best of luck in his future.
