Birkirkara FC Under-17's Team produced a fine performance to defeat Hamrun Spartans FC with a 3-0 score to reach the semi-final of the Under-17's knockout on Sunday morning.

The Stripes registered the perfect start as they opened the score after two minutes of play. Karl Caruana rounded Loren Schembri and deposited the ball in an empty net.

Birkirkara kept dictating play throughout the first half and had a good opportunity to double the score when Ayrton Attard was released into the penalty area after some neat combination play but the finishes ended inches wide.

The Stripes doubled their lead on the twenty-third minute. Sebastian Grech dribbled an opponent and played a through ball to Paul Mbong served Ayrton Attard and the latter's first-time finish hit home with the Hamrun goalkeeper left with no chance to save.

With two goal lead, the Stripes kept control of the game in the second half, before they sealed the issue with the third two minutes from time. Lian Formosa served substitute Christian Mula who finished off in style.
