Birkirkara FC Under-19's Team produced a five-star performance to demolish Pieta Hotspurs with a very comfortable 7-1 score as they registered the third consecutive victory in the Youths League Section A.

The Stripes registered the perfect start and they surged ahead after nine minutes. Matthew Guillaumier served Ayrton Attard in the box before he was fouled by the defender. From the spot, Attard put the Stripes ahead.

Nick Borg scored a brilliant goal connecting perfectly off a corner by Andrew Abela to make the score two while Gianluca Zammit and Andrew Abela scored a goal each in the first-half. To add to their woes, Pieta finished the first half with ten players as their defender was sent off for double booking.

Birkirkara remained in command after the break and they scored another three goals, one each by Ayrton Attard, Gianluca Zammit and Nick Borg as the unstoppable offensive trio completed their brace. Pieta scored a consolation goal by Nicholas Pisani before the seventh goal of the Stripes.

The Stripes will take on leaders Sliema Wanderers in their next match of the league, which could open wide the title race as the Stripes, sixth in the league, are six points adrift the Wanderers.
