Under-19's Team lose to St. Andrew's

Birkirkara FC Under-19's Team's unbeaten run in the Youths League Section A came to an end on Wednesday evening, when three goals in the second-half awarded St. Andrew's a 3-0 victory. This was the first defeat from the last seven league matches for the Stripes.

The Stripes produced a very satisfactory first-half but the first fourty-five minute ended goal-less. However, St. Andrew's surged ahead twelve minutes inside the second-half, as a misunderstanding in midfield by the Stripes led to their opening goal.

St. Andrew's doubled the lead following an action from a corner kick, but the Stripes had a golden opportunity to get back in the match, when they were awarded a penalty. However, Nick Borg's fine strike from the spot was parried by the goalkeeper.

Late in the match, Birkirkara had Fabien Lufi sent off and St. Andrew's made them three with a free-kick from outside the box, to add further gloss on their victory.
