Women's Team one win away from title

by Ayrton Galea - 28th March 2017

Birkirkara FC Women's Team need a victory to seal the BOV Women's First Division League title, and they will be all-out to finish the job tonight when they face Kirkop United FC at the Charles Abela Stadium (kick-off 20:15).

The Stripes can become mathematically champions and win their sixth title in history, if they register their sixteenth consecutive victory this evening. The Stripes have a comfortable ten point lead on top of the table and they will be fully focused to finish the job tonight.

Birkirkara have been undoubtedly the best side in the league. Following a goal-less draw in the first match in the league, they have registered fifteen consecutive victories and they are still unbeaten after sixteen matches.

Coach Shawn Meilak turned on the supporters to come in their numbers for tonight's match. “I would like to encourage you to in numbers to support our players. They have been working the entire season and I can guarantee you that their commitment has been there from day one.”

He added, “We have a team to be proud of. In view of this, tonight, in the match that can make us mathematically champions, I encourage you to come and support us. Thank you.”

We would like to encourage you to come to the stadium and support the Women's Team.

Come on the Stripes!
