Clarification about UEFA Licence

by Ivan Mizzi - 21st April 2017

In reply to statements that appeared in certain sections of the media, Birkirkara FC would like to clarify that on the 19th of April the Club received a communication by the licensing manager dated the 18th of April attached to which was a decision of Licensing Board dated 17th April stating that should the club not submit certain documents by midnight of the 17th April they would not be able to grant the Club the UEFA licence.

As the Club received this communication stating a deadline that was in the past it has immediately written to the Board pointing this out and asking for clarification and specifically an immediate date when to submit any further documents the board may require .

This of course without prejudice to the position of the Club which argues that all necessary documentation had already been submitted and correctly and that in any case without prejudice to its right to appeal any decision.

In view of this, the Club feels that any conclusive statements are premature and the final position remains to be determined.

It is unfortunate that this matter has been transmitted to the media days before a determining match, clearly provoking huge detrimental damage to the club and its team, at this delicate stage of the competition.
