Birkirkara FC registered the first victory in the Mosta Tournament, when they defeated Mosta FC with a 4-1 score. Martin Klein, Bruno Andrade, Llywelyn Cremona and Luke Montebello all scored a goal each.

Coach Peter Pullicino gave the nod from the start to the latest signings Martin Klein and Renato Camilo. Bruno Fernando was also in the first-eleven selection while Under-19's Team goalkeeper Amara Sylla defended the posts.

The First Half

The Stripes surged ahead on the thirteenth minute. James Brincat delivered an inch-perfect free-kick on the second post and Martin Klein hit a powerful header from close-range.

Birkirkara could have doubled the lead past the half-hour when Jake Grech had a powerful low shot scratching past the post, while Ryan Camenzuli had a direct free-kick ending over.

The Second Half

The Stripes doubled their lead twenty minutes inside the second half. Ryan Camenzuli was fouled inside the box and the referee ordered the penalty. From the spot, Bruno Andrade, who enjoyed a very satisfactory performance, sent the goalkeeper the other way to double Birkirkara's lead.

Mosta pulled one back on the sixty-sixth minute, but the Stripes regained a two-goal lead fifteen minutes from time, when Llywelyn Cremona hit a powerful drive that hit the crossbar and went in.

Birkirkara wrapped-up their victory with the fourth goal five minutes from time. They were awarded another penalty after Luke Montebello was pulled down inside the box, and the same player scored from the spot.
