Birkirkara FC suffered the second consecutive victory, and the fourth one in seven matches of the BOV Premier League, when they conceded another 3-0 defeat against Sliema Wanderers FC.

Sliema Wanderers took the lead against the run of the play just before half-time. Edmond Agius' powerful free-kick was flicked by Matias Mucchardi past goalkeeper Philip Schranz.

The Wanderers doubled their lead nine minutes inside the second half thanks to a shot from inside the box by Gabriel Aquilina, before they wrapped-up their victory with the third goal ten minutes from time as Jefferson de Assis converted a penalty.
