Champions Birkirkara FC registered their second consecutive victory in the BOV Women's League, when they defeated Mgarr United FC with a fine 4-1 score.

The Stripes, who had a penalty kick taken by Stephania Farrugia saved after just two minutes, surged ahead on the tenth minute. Tracy Teuma's inch-perfect corner kick was headed home by Farrugia.

Against the run of the play, Mgarr United made the score level on the twenty-third minute when Roxanne Micallef hit a wonderful volley that left no chance to the Birkirkara goalkeeper, Janice Xuereb.

Birkirkara regained the lead on the hour mark. Raina Giusti delivered a precise cross towards Alishia Sultana who flicked the ball home from close-range.

Alishia Sultana scored her second personal goal with a gem of a goal on the seventy-fifth minute. The rapid winger showed great technical skills as she dribbled past three players while surging forward before she calmly placed the ball past goalkeeper Rachel Borg.

Birkirkara wrapped-up the victory two minutes later with the fourth goal. One of this summer's signings Jelena Sakic made a powerful run down the left flank before she hit a curling shot past goalkeeper Borg from a diagonal position.
