Match Preview: Birkirkara FC vs. Lija Athletic FC

Revamped Birkirkara FC side will be looking to continue their pursuit of securing a top-three finish in the BOV Premier League, when they will take on bottom-placed Lija Athletic FC this afternoon.

The Stripes has been the most consistent side in the BOV Premier League for the last three months that saw them winning eight matches, while sharing the spoils in a goal-less draw against Valletta in their last match.

Following last weekend's results, the Stripes remained in the third position, as Gzira United and Floriana also shared the spoils in a goal-less draw, while Hibernians dropped another two precious points in a goal-less draw against Naxxar Lions.

On the other hand, Lija Athletic are at the bottom of the table with just five points, and they are ten points away from thirteenth-placed Naxxar Lions who has fifteen points. Lija has recorded just one victory and they are coming from nine consecutive defeats.

The Stripes are expected to be in full-strength for this match.

The match will be played at the Hibernians Stadium and it will kick off at 14:00.
