Matthew Guillaumier was born on the 9 April 1997. He plays as a midfielder and he joined our Club in the January 2016 Transfer Market.

He is a product of the St. Andrew’s FC, and he started playing with them since he was five years of age. With St. Andrew’s he went through the ranks and his promising abilities were to the extent that aged only 15 years and 17 days, he made his First Division debut against Gudja in April 2013.

His international level playing skills paid off in when as part of the 1997 squad, he scored Malta's first goal in the away game, and Malta went on to beat Wales with a 3-2 score, in a match that was played on Friday, 23 August 2013. In September 2013, he moved to the Youth Academy of Empoli.

With the National Under-17’s Team, he also participated in the UEFA European Under-17 Championship which was organized in Malta. He played all three matches for the whole ninety minutes.

Matthew was one of the best players with St. Andrew's in the 2015-2016 season and he was a regular player, making seventeen appearances, in which he started sixteen matches and was included as a substitute once. He scored two goals in the victory against Swieqi in the FA Trophy.

In the January Transfer Market, Matthew attracted the interest of several clubs but it was Birkirkara who signed the promising youngster as he signed a four and a half year deal on Monday, 11 January 2016.

He made his debut in the 1-0 victory over Valletta FC in the fourth round of the FA Trophy on Wednesday, 20 January, where he was included as a substitute deep into stoppage time. In his first five months with our Club, he made thirteen appearances with the Senior Team and another three with the Under-19’s Team where he scored two goals.
