National League Draws

On Monday evening at the Centenary Hall, Ta' Qali the National league draws where held as the first draw will see Champions Birkirkara beginning defending their title against Sliema Wanderers. As the fixture show, Birkirkara will not begin with an easy ride, far from it as the 'Blues' once again in this transfer market had managed to strengthen their squad with several foreigners.

In this new season, the 'Stripes' and Sliema Wanderers had met only one time in the Euro Challenge cup with the 'Blues' beating Birkirkara with a 3-1 score line.

Below you can find ordered the teams that Birkirkara will be playing in the first round:

Sliema Wanderers Floriana Hibernians Valletta Marsaxlokk Hamrun Spartans Vittoriosa Qormi Tarxien Rainbows.

The other first draws will meet arch rivals Valletta vs. Vittoriosa, Floriana vs. Hibernians, Marsaxlokk vs. Tarxien Rainbows and Qormi vs. Hamrun Spartans.

The first round match will be played between the 11th and 13th September.

On Saturday 21st August once again Birkirkara will be involved in the Super Cup where the 'Stripes' will be meeting the FA Trophy winners Valletta. The last time that these teams where met in the same competition was on the 8th August 2008 when the 'Citizens' won the cup with a 2-0 score line.
