Birkirkara to face Sliema in Euro Cup
by Ayrton Galea - 16th June 2013Champions Birkirkara will be opening their 2013-2014 season commitments with the Euro Cup friendly tournament tomorrow evening when in the first match of the competition, they will face Sliema Wanderers.
After being crowned champions for the fourth time in their history, the Stripes' squad had a short break before returning to training last Monday and therefore, this will be the first match for this new season.
With the Stripes having a large number of players forming part of Malta's senior and Under 21's team, Mr. Paul Zammit will give the chance to several promising players and foreign players who are currently on trial with our Club.
From this year, this competition is no longer considered as an official honour of the Malta Football Association. Therefore, the respective clubs that are going to participate will be free to make use of players are on trial.
The match will be played at the Centenary Stadium and it is scheduled to kick off at 20:00.
Tickets for this match can be bought from the ticket booth before the match and they costs €6 for adults, €4 for the holders of the Kartanzjan and €1 for children under the 12 years of age.
Electronic cards valid for this match are the Blue cards and the Blue-white cards of the four clubs that are going to participate in this friendly tournament only.
