Birkirkara FC in the Euro Challenge Cup

Birkirkara FC will once again be taking part in the Euro Challenge Cup, which will be held next week. The main aim of this Cup is to give the local clubs some match practice, as preparation for their commitments in the UEFA Champions League and Europa Cup, which will start the following week.

The first match will see the Champions Birkirkara FC playing against Sliema Wanderers on Monday 21 June at 18.15 at the Centenary Stadium, Ta' Qali.

The loser of the first match will play against Valletta FC. This match will be played on Wednesday 23 June at 18.15 at the same venue. In case of a draw between Birkirkara FC and Sliema W., Birkirkara will face arch rivals, Valletta FC.

The last match will be played on Friday 25 June at 20:00, also at the Centenary Stadium,. In this match Valletta FC will face either Birkirkara FC or Sliema Wanderers, depending on the outcome of the first match between these two clubs.

Birkirkara FC has managed to win the Euro Challenge Cup on three occasions. The first time being in 1998-1999 Season, the second in the 2003-2004 Season and the third time was in the 2008-2009 Season.
