Birkirkara Under 15s yesterday managed to bounce back from the defeat suffered last week by beating Rabat Ajax 4-0 at the Siggiewi Ground. This win confirmed what coach Charlie Micallef said after the previous game as the team moved on despite the defeat and seem to be back on track.

The first half was a frustrating one for the Stripes as, although they tried hard to gain the upper hand in the midfield area, the Magpies stood their ground and withstood the pressure to end the first half goal less. The story was different in the second half though, as the Rabat defence was finally unlocked and Kieran Xuereb netted the opener. The match opened up for Birkirkara and managed to transform their superiority into goals, with Owen Amato and Owen Cauchi putting the game beyond our opponents, before Kieran Xuereb sealed the issue with his second goal and a pocker for his team.

When analysing the game, Mr Micallef told us: “Once again our boys managed to bag another 3 points by showing superiority. The first half was rather frustrating as our team fought to gain possession at midfield and found it hard to break through Rabat defence. During half time talk tactical changed were given and the boys came out to prove that they were the best team on the field. Well done to all the boys for the great effort and performance.”
The Under 15s next match will be against Qormi on Sunday 25th November at the Melita Ground. Kick-off scheduled for 15:00.
