Fabrizio Miccoli released

by Ivan Mizzi - 15th December 2015

Birkirkara FC has officially released the Italian player Fabrizio Miccolli. This was done at the request of the player, who is permanently retiring as a football player, and who wished to rejoin his family in Italy.

Miccoli had joined our Club on the 24 June 2015, and he left his mark immediately. Miccoli will be undoubtedly be remembered for the historic victory over West Ham United in the second leg of the second qualifying round when his goal after fourteen minutes in-front of the packed National Stadium gave the Stripes a memorable victory, despite still being eliminated after the penalty shoot-out.

He made a total of eighteen appearances for the Stripes, and he scored ten goals, in which six were scored in the BOV Premier League, two in the UEFA Europa League, one in the BOV Super Cup and added another one in his last appearance with our Club in the 6-0 victory last Wednesday in the FA Trophy meaning that the Italian forward has scored in all competitions in his spell with our Club.

Miccoli is now in talks with the Club about future cooperation in the areas of player scouting, and collaboration between his football schools and Birkirkara FC Youth Academy.

We would like to thank Miccoli for his outstanding services with our Club while wishing him all the best of luck in the future.
