Birkirkara FC Girls Under-17's produced another brilliant performance to extend their perfect start to three wins in a row in the Women Under-17's League, when with a dominant performance, they defeated Hibernians FC with a 4-1 score.

Following a 13-0 victory against Hamrun Spartans and a 7-1 victory against Zebbug Rangers, this was considered to be the first strong test for the girls. Michela Felice's early strike separated the sides at the break and she added another one in the second half before substitute Samantha Zarb and Veronique Mifsud added further gloss to the victory before Hibernians scored a consolation goal.

The First Half

The Stripes registered the perfect start as they surged ahead after seven minutes. Playmaker Veronique Mifsud sent Michela Felice through on goal and the Birkirkara forward hit past the Hibernians goalkeeper with a fine strike from outside the box.

Hibernians reacted and on the thirteenth minute, they had a direct free-kick which saw Birkirkara goalkeeper, who was on top form, Anthea Enriquez tipping the ball into a corner kick.

Goalkeeper Enriquez produced another spectacular save just past the half-hour. She had to dive full stretch to turn another well-taken free-kick into a corner kick. From the resulting corner, the Birkirkara goalkeeper was the protagonist again the keep Birkirkara's lead with another save from a close-range header.

The Second Half

Birkirkara doubled the score six minutes inside the second half. Veronique Mifsud was in action once again as served Michela Felice who showed great skills to dribble past two markers and hit a fine shot in the net.

Substitute Samantha Zarb, who was introduced few minutes after the start of the second half, quickly left her mark as the rampant winger showed great technique before she was fouled inside the box. From the resulting penalty, Zarb hit a well-placed shot at the right top corner on the fifty-third minute to make them three.

Veronique Mifsud got rewarded for an excellent display when she put her name on the scoring sheet just before the hour-mark. The Birkirkara playmaker collected a precise through-ball by Sarah Urpani and placed a low shot past the Hibernians goalkeeper.

Hibernians scored a consolation goal two minutes from time with a direct free-kick.
