Birkirkara FC Under-17's Team took an early sole leadership in the APS Bank Under-17's League Section A, when they came from a goal behind to beat St. Andrew's FC with a 3-2 score thanks to a brace by Karl Caruana and another goal by Neil Friggieri.

It was balanced opening twenty-five minutes but St. Andrew's surged ahead three minutes through a penalty converted by Markus Grima. However, their joy was short lived as just two minutes later the Stripes reacted brilliantly to make the score level thanks to Karl Caruana. Caruana turned the score in Birkirkara's favour just before half-time with a fine header off a cross by Braden Calleja.

The Stripes continued where they left in the first half as they made them three on the forty-fifth minute when a corner by Carlo Zammit Lonardelli was headed home by Neil Friggieri. St. Andrew's pulled one back just minutes later and pushed forward to get at least a point but in the last moments, goalkeeper Amara Sylla pulled off an incredible save to ensure Birkirkara's important victory.
