Birkirkara FC Women's Team celebrated the title in style, after they defeated Gozo FC with an incredible 8-0 score, to complete an entire BOV Women's First Division League campaign unbeaten.

The Stripes were in a class of their own and team's top scorer Kelly Agius Pace confirmed her magnificent season when she scored five goals. The other three goals arrived by Leanne Micallef, Stephania Farrugia and Raina Giusti.

By this result, Birkirkara completed an entire league campaign unbeaten. Following a goal-less draw in the first match, the Stripes registered nineteen consecutive victories. They scored sixty-eighth goals and conceded just seven to end the season with the best defence in the league.

The First Half

The Stripes broke the dead-lock after twenty-two minutes. Sarah Urpani picked Kelly Agius Pace who did well to drift inside the box and her powerful shot hit home.

Birkirkara doubled the lead four minutes later. Sonia Schembri served Leanne Micallef, who once again was preferred in a playmaker position, and the Birkirkara offensive midfielder hit a fine curling shot in the net.

The Stripes made them three on the thirty-sixth minute. The Stripes were awarded a penalty, and from the spot, Agius Pace made no mistake from the spot.

The Second Half

The Stripes made them four on the fifty-sixth minute. Substitute Raina Giusti delivered a well-taken second post corner kick and team's captain Stephania Farrugia blasted home from close range.

Forward Kelly Agius Pace scored another two goals when first she concluded home a solo-action on the hour mark before finding the net again on the seventy-sixth minute.

Giusti also found the net in the final eight minutes, before Agius Pace scored her fifth personal goal and the eighth for the Stripes with a low diagonal shot three minutes from time.

At the end of the match, Malta FA President Norman Darmanin Demajo presented the winners' trophy to the Birkirkara FC players and staff.
