Birkirkara to take on Floriana

by Ayrton Galea - 5th May 2017

Birkirkara FC will be seeking to consolidate the third place in the BOV Premier League and keep their hopes alive of playing in European Competitions next season, when they take on Floriana FC this evening.

The Stripes' progress was stalled last week, when they were held by Gzira United in a 1-1 draw. With this result, the Stripes levelled points with Valletta in the third place. On the plus side, the Stripes extended their unbeaten run to ten matches.

On the other hand, Floriana will be eyeing the semi-final match of the FA Trophy, as the Greens are one of the four semi-finalists. The Greens returned to winning ways last weekend, when they defeated Mosta with a 2-0 score.

Coach Nikola Jaros once again cannot count on Cain Attard, but he will be delighted with the return of Miguel Alba and Srdjan Dimitrov as the offensive duo will return from a one-match ban. Gonzalo Malan's availability is still doubtful.

Floriana will have Mario Fontanella and Jurgen Pisani suspended for this match.

The match will be played at the Hibernians Stadium and will kick off 20:00.

Come on the Stripes!
