Women: Birkirkara FC 10-1 Tarxien Rainbows FC

Birkirkara FC Women's Team registered a comfortable victory in the first match of the second round of the BOV Women's League, when they defeated Tarxien Rainbows FC with a 10-1 score.

The Stripes opened a quick two-goal lead as Mariah Sciberras opened the score after just seven minutes, while Sarah Urpani doubled the lead two minutes later. Youngster Kailey Willis was the right place to pounce the ball home to reduce the score for Tarxien Rainbows, but Stephania Farrugia regained a two-goal lead for the Stripes before half-time.

Floodgates opened in the second half as the Stripes scored five goals in the opening twelve minutes thanks to a goal each by Stephania Farrugia, Mariah Sciberras, Alishia Sultana, Raina Giusti and Sarah Urpani. Sarah Urpani and Mariah Sciberras both completed their hat-trick late in the match as they scored another goal each.
