Match Report: Birkirkara FC 5-0 Kirkop United FC

Champions Birkirkara FC Women's Team produced another commanding performance in the BOV Women's League, when they defeated Kirkop United FC with a comfortable 5-0 score. For the Stripes, this was the ninth victory in ten matches.

The Stripes took just nine minutes to break the dead-lock. A free-kick by Kim Parnis was short cleared, before the ball reached the path of Tracy Teuma who struck a wonderful curling shot from outside the box that hit hard past goalkeeper Sharon Costantino.

Birkirkara playmaker Tracy Teuma proved her shooting abilities again on the twenty-fifth minute, when scored a very identical goal. The Birkirkara playmaker avoided the challenge of the defender before hitting a powerful strike from outside the box that goalkeeper Costantino no chance.

The Stripes made them three just before the half-time whistle. League's top-scorer Raina Giusti outpaced her marker as she dashed inside the box and placed the ball at the back of the net. For Giusti, this was her seventeenth goal in the league.

Mariah Sciberras rattled the crossbar on the fifty-third minute, but the Stripes were not denied three minutes later. Urpani scored a gem of a goal as the Birkirkara forward dribbled past two markers, before she struck a brilliant curling shot that smashed against the upright and into the net.

The team's latest signing, German forward Jacqueline Demuth made her debut when she was included as a substitute on the sixty-eighth minute. Demuth was included as a centre-forward position, as she replaced Sarah Urpani.

The Stripes added further gloss on their victory by scoring the fifth goal seven minutes from time. Robust midfielder Kim Parnis advanced forward unchallenged before she hit a powerful drive that surprised goalkeeper Costantino.
