Birkirkara FC secured their biggest victory in history over their arch-rivals Hibernians FC when they defeated them with an incredible 6-0 score. Therefore, the Stripes made sure to take on Mgarr United FC in the much-awaited top of the table clash next Monday with six points clear.

The Stripes registered their second victory in the Section A phase of the BOV Women's League with another high-margin score, following last week's 7-0 victory over Kirkop United FC.

The team led by Melania Bajada continued to show their attacking power by scoring five goals inside the first half before a goal mid-way the second half added further gloss on this remarkable victory.

Forward Kailey Willis stole the limelight with a hat-trick to consolidate her position as the team's top scorer with sixteen goals in sixteen league matches. Raina Giusti, the Stripes' second best scorer this season, scored a brace, while the other goal was a gem of a goal by Tracy Teuma.

The First Half

The Stripes took the lead after two minutes. A short clearance inside the Hibernians' box saw the ball reaching the path of towering forward Kailey Willis who stunned the goalkeeper with an eye-catching over-head kick.

Birkirkara doubled their lead on the fifteenth minute. Technical player Tracy Teuma showed her set-pieces ability by scoring a wonderful direct corner kick that surprised the Hibernians' goalkeeper.

The Stripes made them three on the twenty-seventh minute. Veronique Mifsud unzipped the defence with an inch-perfect through-ball towards Willis and the lethal forward struck a powerful shot from the edge of the box for her second personal goal.

Enjoying one of her most electrifying performances this season, Willis completed her hat-trick on the thirty-fifth minute. Willis and Mifsud combined again as the latter provided another through-ball to Willis and the Birkirkara forward drilled a low shot that hit the foot of the post and inside the net.

There was no stopping the Stripes and they added their fifth goal two minutes later. Rapid-winger Raina Giusti showed great technical skills to dribble past her marker and dashed inside the box before she hit home from close-range.

The Second Half

For the start of the second half, Coach Melania Bajada utilised her first substitution by including Michela Felice instead of Samantha Zarb. The up-and-coming Felice was included as a left-back.

The Stripes scored their sixth goal on the sixty-seventh minute. Teuma showed great vision to provide an inch-perfect through-ball towards Giusti who did well to avoid her marker, before dashing inside the box and calmly hit a low shot home for her second personal goal.

Twelve minutes from time, Serbian defender Jelena Sakic made her return with the team, after she was ruled out of action for the last three months. Ylenia Carabott, who suffered a calf injury with the National Team, was also included as a substitute after skipping the last match.

The Referee's full-time whistle found the Stripes registering another three crucial points thanks to a match that will go down in history as the biggest victory against Hibernians FC.
