Birkirkara FC Women's Team produced a five-star performance to claim their first silverware of the season as in the BOV Women's Super Cup, they defeated Mgarr United FC with a 5-0 score in a match that was played at the National Stadium.

The Stripes delivered another bold statement of their aspirations to confirm their tag of the best team in Malta by securing the first honour in style to win the first competition of the season.

Undoubtedly it was the league's top scorer Loza Abera who once again took centre-stage as she scored three goals to reach the 20-goal mark this season after just eight official matches played.

Birkirkara surged ahead on the thirty-third minute. Mgarr failed to clear the danger from a Birkirkara corner kick and defender Ann-Marie Said hit a first-time effort that hit past Ebejer.

The Stripes doubled their lead on the seventy-fourth minute. Substitute Veronique Mifsud supplied an excellent through-ball towards Raina Giusti who accelerated forward before firing the ball past the Mgarr goalkeeper.

Birkirkara were now all over their opponents. Loza Abera made them three on the seventy-seventh minute when she hit a thunderous drive from outside the box that gave the Mgarr goalkeeper no chance.

Abera added further gloss on the victory with two late goals when first she rounded the goalkeeper and slotted into an empty net and then completed her hat-trick with another shot from outside the box.
