by Ayrton Galea - 19th April 2020

Birkirkara FC is pleased to announce that the club has reached an agreement with all the Senior Team players and technical staff over the salary payments during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The club was amongst the first to stop training when the COVID-19 virus spread to Malta and emphasizes that its main priority is the health of everyone involved at the club and Maltese football in general.

On the other hand, the club reiterates that it's thoughts on the playing side of things is in line with UEFA's guidelines in that the season must be completed if possible. The club has made its position clear with the MFA and those teams competing in the BOV Premier League.

The club would also like to confirm that all of its Senior Team foreign players are in Malta. This has been possible mainly due to the club's long-term vision by signing long-term contracts with them.

The club would like to thank all the players and technical staff for their will and good faith to reach an agreement in this situation. The talks were led by the club's technical director and recently appointed Vice-President, Mr. Michael Valenzia while the players were represented by Captain Roderick Briffa, Vice-Captain Andrew Hogg, and Ryan Fenech.
