Ryan Harding was born on 27 April 1984 in Edinburgh, Scotland and he is the last foreigner that joined Birkirkara FC in the 2010 Summer Transfer window.

In the 2002-2003 season, Ryan joined Scottish side Livingston FC where he had made only three appearances in two seasons before departing from the club in 2005.

In the 2005-2006 season, Ryan moved to another Scottish club, Greenock Morton, where he had a very successful four years spell with this club as he made no less than 124 appearances while managing to score five goals.

Ryan moved again from Greenock Morton in 2009 to yet another Scottish club. This time the choice of Ryan fell on East Stirlingshire. Harding played with the East Stirlingshire shirt for only one year and he made 22 appearances.

In the 2010 Summer Transfer Market, Birkirkara FC were searching for their 4th foreigner to replace the absence of veteran defender, Branko Nisevic who decided to retire from a playing career.

Several defenders came on trial with our club but Mr. Paul Zammit was not satisfied enough until Ryan Harding arrived.

Since his first training session with 'The Stripes', Ryan has managed to impress both Head Coach Paul Zammit and the rest of the technical staff with his defensive skills.

The 188cm tall player's first appearance was in the first match of the Carlsberg Tournament which was organized by Hibernians FC when Birkirkara ended their in a goal less draw. Ryan performance can be described as an excellent one in all the three matches. He could be heard encouraging his team mates and giving them instructions, showing his strong leadership skills.

After several training sessions and the Carlsberg Tournament performances it was no wonder that Mr. Paul Zammit had decided to engage the Scottish defender to our squad who should be the suitable defender that our head coach was looking for.

Ryan Harding was registered with our club in the last day of the Summer Transfer Market on the 31st August.

With the yellow-red shirt, Ryan made eight appearances in the BoV Premier League. These were against Sliema, Floriana, Hibernians, Valletta, Marsaxlokk, Qormi and Tarxien in the first round while the only match he played in the second round was against Sliema Wanderers.

Unexpectedly, Ryan began to suffer from a medical condition and this kept him out of play.

Ryan was released from his contract on 28 January 2011, after reaching a mutual agreement with the Club.
