Ibrahim Babatunde is a Nigerian striker who joined Birkirkara F.C. in February 2011.

Ibrahim was born on the 29th December 1984, and is considered as one of the best foreign strikers playing in Malta.

Babatunde, or 'Baba' played with Parma F.C. in the 2000-2001 season as part of the Youth squad, where he made five appearances, but failed to score any goals.

In 2001, Ibrahim entered into his first playing contract when he signed for the Italian team, A.S.D. Atletico Arezzo. Once again, in the season he spent with this club, he made five appearance and failed to score any goals.

In the two seasons he spent with Piacenza Calcio, which is another Italian Team, he was not given the opportunity to really show his skills, as he was still a youngster. He remained on the bench or not selected and he made only five appearances and once again failed again to find the net.

In the 2004-2005 season, Ibrahim decided to leave Italty, and joined R.A.E.C. Mons, a club from Belgium. This was a more positive experience for 'Baba' as he made eighteen appearances, and manages to score two goals.

Then 'Baba' accepted to join Msida St. Joseph for the next two seasons, that is from 2005-2007. Ibrahim's skills were finally evident to everyone. Thanks to his speed and wonderful technique he managed to make no less than forty appearances with the Saints and scoring no less than eighteen goals. In his first year, he was voted as the Malta Football Best Foreign Player award.

In the 2007-2008 season, Ibrahim left Malta and he joined the Danish team AC Horsens. This was not a positive experience for 'Baba' as he lost his regular place and he made only six appearances without scoring a single goal.

The next two seasons were different for him as he decided to leave AC Horsens and return to Italy to sign with A.S.G. Nocerina. In these two seasons, Ibrahim made sixteen appearances and managed to score seven goals.

In the 2010-2011 season, Birkirkara were lacking a 'killer striker'. As soon as the January Transfer Market opened, the Technical Staff made everything possible to strengthen this department and Birkirkara F.C. manages to engage the services of a Brazilian striker, Rodolfo Adorno de Oliveria.

January went by and everyone believed that 'The Stripes' had only strengthened this department with the services of the Brazilian striker. However this was not the case. On Febraury 3, Ibrahim Babatunde joined Birkirkara till the end of the season. This transfer was possible because Ibrahim Babatunde was a free-agent which meant that 'The Stripes' had no pressure to sign him before the end of the January Transfer Market.

In the four month spell with our Club, Ibrahim had a difficult beginning as he failed to reach the level that he was remembered for in the spell he had with Msida Saint Joseph F.C. However it was evident in that last games of the season that he was reaching this level.

In the Premier League he made 11 appearances and he begun nine matches while he was included as a substitute twice. With the yellow-red shirt Babatunde scored three goals, two in the Premier League and one in the Quarter Final of the U*BET FA Trophy.

A few days after the end of the 2010-2011 season, the committee decided to release Ibrahim Babatunde.
