Angus Buhagiar was born on 29 April 1987. He began his career as a striker with Floriana FC and was then loaned out to Tarxien R before joining our club.
Angus was transferred to Birkirkara in summer 2008 under the guidance of Mr. Johnny Buttigieg. Angus was not in the starting eleven but came as a substitute which helped with his velocity and determination for scoring the winning goal that the team needed.
Wearing 'The Stripes' shirt till the 2009-2010 season, Buhagiar has scored 3 goals with the last one arriving this season.
The 2009-2010 season was one that Buhagiar will not forget, as thanks to the intelligence of manager Mr. Paul Zammit, he discovered several new positions for Angus with the preferred one being the right back position. The debut of this new position was in November 2009 against Marsaxlokk in the 100th Anniversary Cup.
In the same season, Angus had only scored one goal in the win against Msida SJ on the last week of November 2009 when our team managed to beat the Saints with a 4-1 score line with the youngster scoring the last goal.
His biggest event was yet to come, as on 30th April he had the joy to celebrate his 1st premier league title with 'The Stripes' and in his personal career.
In June 2010, Angus Buhagiar renewed his contract by another two years which will keep him a player of 'The Stripes' till the 2012-2013 season. Everyone hopes that the next two years with the yellow and red shirt will be as successful for Angus as the previous one has been.
In the 2010-2011 season Angus had another positive season with ‘The Stripes' as his run on the flanks thanks to his fast overlaps was always dangerous for every defence. In this Premier League Angus made 24 appearances as he began 24 matches out of the total of 28.
The 2011-2012 season was also an acceptable one for Angus as in the Premier League he made 28 appearances, starting 26 and included as a substitute twice. In the Premier League, he managed to find the net once in the comfortable 4-0 win over Hamrun Spartans played on the 22 October; Angus scored the second goal of the match.
