Birkirkara FC vs MSK Zilina - the home leg

On Tuesday, Birkirkara will be involved in the 2nd qualification round of the UEFA Champions League against the current champions of Slovakia, MSK Zilina.

To make it to this round, the 'Stripes' had to overcome the challenge of Andorra's side Santa Coloma, In the first match Birkirkara was awarded a 3-0 walkover victory and in the second match the yellow and reds manage to beat Santa Coloma with a 4-3 score line.

MSK Zilina has been one of the most successful clubs in Slovakia, since its establishment in 1908. They play their hame games in their own stadium, Stadium Pod Dubnom.

An impressive record for Zilina is the fact that from 2002 till 2010 they achieve no less than five premier league titles to show their domination in the Slovakia's league.

One has to mention the positive results that they manage to achieve in the Europa League last season when they beat Hajduk Split 1-0. In the 2008-2009 season they managed to beat both Aston Villa with a 2-1 score line and Ajax with a 1-0 score line.

These results are a confirmation of the strength that MSK Zilina posses and it is expected to be a very difficult test for our squad.

The first match will be played in the Centenary Stadium and it is scheduled to kick off at 18:00. Tickets will cost €5. The second leg will be played in Stadium Pod Dubnom in Slovakia on 21st July kick off at 19:30.
