Ryan Scicluna shares his views

by Ayrton Galea - 4th August 2010

"It was a great honour for me to score for Birkirkara at this young age." Those were the first words of Ryan Scicluna when he was asked about his feelings on yesterday's match, where the 17 year old put his name on the scorers list with his third and winning goal for Birkirkara FC against Marsaxlokk FC.

Ryan Scicluna was first seen as part of the senior squad under the guidance of Mr. Paul Zammit and, despite his very young age, he is finding enough space to leave his mark. His Premier League debut arrived on Sunday 9th January 2010 when our team beat Dingli Swallows with a 2-0 score line and from then onwards he never looked back. Continually improving in no small way thanks to his hard work both during training and in every match. Yesterday's goal was the award for his hard work.

He was then asked, what the Coach's aims have been for this tournament, and to this Ryan responded, "These tournaments are a great opportunity for our coach to assess our physical levels and determine needs for continuous improvement.''

Finally, Ryan commented about his plans for the future with 'The Stripes'. "In the near future, what I want is to still form part of this team but I am well aware that for this to be possible, I need to work very hard. I'm ready and willing to do this, with the hope to win more honours with this glorious Club."
