Birkirkara FC wind down for the Festive Season

by Ivan Mizzi - 20th December 2010

Last Saturday Birkirkara FC held a buffet dinner at the Grand Excelsior Hotel. The lavish buffet was attended by a good number of supporters, together with the team and technical staff, members of the committee and sub-committees and the youth nursery.

Spirits were high, after the comfortable win against Hibernians earlier that day. It was also a good opportunity for all those that attended to socialise and mingle in a relaxed environment.

After dinner, the Club's President, Mr Karm Galea gave a short speech. He started by thanking all those that attended, and all the supporters for the backing they give to the Club, especially when they attend fund-raising events like this one.

He went on to remind everybody that at the Annual General Meeting he had stated that the Club had 2 major targets for the season. The first was to pass the first qualifying round on the Champions League. The second was to be a major challenger for the winning of the league. He went on to say that although we had a shaky start due to a lot of suspensions and injuries, we were still in the race, and if anybody thinks we have thrown in the towel, they have another thing coming.

He concluded by wishing everybody the best of luck for the coming year.

We also would like to take this opportunity to echo the same wishes to all of you.
