Esequiel Lovizon released by Birkirkara F.C.

by Ivan Mizzi - 4th January 2011

Italo-Brazilian goalkeeper Esequiel Lovizon has been released by Birkirkara F.C. The release was agreed upon amicably and mutually, to serve the interest of both parties.

Esequiel joined Birkirkara in June 2010, on a one year deal. With 'The Sripes' he took part in the Euro Challenge Cup, the Champions League and the Super Cup. However, he was injured just after seven minutes of his first appearance in the BOV Premier League, where he suffered a broken arm. This injury put him out of action for months.

When the possibility of a recovery seemed to be approaching, Esequiel suffered a second injury to his same arm, and this complicated matters by no small means.

Lovizon is now set to be returning to his native country of Brazil.

Lovizon told us "It was a great opportunity for me to play for Birkirkara, since it was my first opportunity to play outside Brazil. I would like to thank all the fans who always supported me."

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Esequiel for his service to the Club, and wish him all the best for his future.
