by Ayrton Galea - 24th March 2011

On Friday afternoon the Under 21 International squad will be involved in a friendly match against Montenegro.

For this friendly match the Under 21 head coach Ray Farrugia called-up two Birkirkara players which are Rowen Muscat who is currently the Under 21 captain and Terence Vella.

In a press conference Ray Farrugia said that this will serve as a good preparation for the two upcoming competitive matches of the UEFA Under-21 European Championship qualifiers against Finland and Lithuania and both matches will be played away from home.

He added that every match is difficult but if one prepares well, anything can happen. He revealed that he is aiming for two wins in this group.

The key improvement for the head coach was the changing of mentality. He said that during the four years he spent as an Under-21 coach there was an improvement in this aspect and his objective now is to build on this by entering a winning mentality.

Rowen Muscat said that he feels that a change was made in the team which resulted that all the players are united in this team. He added by saying that not only the team spirit was changed but even the mentality as he is not aiming just for a good performance but something better, which is a satisfactory result.

The match will be played at the Hibernians Ground in Paola and it scheduled to start at 18:00.

We want to wish the best of luck for the Under 21 team, especially to our two players, for a good and solid performance.
