Thomas Paris moves to Floriana

by Ivan Mizzi - 30th June 2011

Floriana FC and Birkirkara FC agreed terms for the permanent transfer of Thomas Paris, after his contract had expired in the end of the previous season. The deal was sealed when Thomas agreed terms with Floriana FC.

Paris is a Birkirkara FC Youth Nursery product and he made his debut in the Premier League on the 2nd January 2004 when our team suffered a 2-3 loss against Pieta Hotspurs. Thomas started the match and was then substituted for the last twenty minutes by another youngster, Martin Anastasi.

Thomas scored one goal for 'The Stripes'. It was the winning goal on 1st December 2008 against Floriana. It was the third and most important goal, just minutes after he had entered the game, leaving Birkirkara FC with a 3-2 win.

Last season he started the season with Birkirkara but in January, Thomas was loaned out to Floriana with the aim that he gets more regular match playing experience. In the first half of the season Thomas made eleven appearances in the Premier League with Birkirkara as he started four matches while he was included as a substitute seven times.

In the second half of the season, in his spell with Floriana he made 12 appearances and he began 11 matches while he was included as a substitute once. His season ended on a very positive note as Floriana managed to win the U*BET FA Trophy with a solitary goal against Valletta.

With 'The Stripes' Thomas made 76 appearances and he started the match 45 times while he was included as a substitute 31 times.

We wish Thomas the best of luck in his new adventure while thanking him for the service that he gave to our Club.
