BOV National League Fixtures 2011-2012

The fixtures for the BOV National Football League for the football season 2011-2012 were drawn during a press conference at Bank of Valletta's Head Office in Santa Venera. Bank of Valletta Chief Officer Victor Denaro assisted MFA CEO Bjorn Vassallo in the drawing of fixtures for all division of the BOV National Football Leagues.

Speaking during the draws, Mr. Denaro, said, "Bank of Valletta has become synonymous with major sporting events in Malta and Gozo. Indeed, this is the seventh consecutive year that Bank of Valletta is supporting all the division of the National Football Leagues”.

"We are very much looking forward to continuing our successful partnership with the Malta Football Association with the aim of enhancing the capabilities of our players, coaches, administrators and referees, " concluded Mr. Denaro.

Mr. Bjorn Vassallo, said, "It is very exciting time for local football, a time when the Malta Football Association is undergoing major changes, especially with regard to the format of the National Football Leagues.”

"It is being anticipated that this new format will bring about increased interest in all division, especially with incentives that will come into force this season, aimed at further promoting the local game, for the benefit also of Bank of Valletta.”

After the draws of the Third, Second and First Division Leagues for Season 2011-2012, it was the turn for the draw of the Premier League 2011-2012. This year the league will see twelve teams taking part. In the first two rounds, all twelve teams will play against each other. Then the league is divided into two, the first six teams will play in the 'Championship Pool' while the last six play in the 'Relegation Pool' where another two rounds will be held. The bottom placed two teams will be relegated to the First Division.

The BoV Premier League will kick-off on 18 August, two days after the Super Cup between Champions Valletta and U*BET FA Trophy Winners Floriana is held. Matches will be played at the National Stadium in Ta' Qali, the Victor Tedesco Stadium in Hamrun, and at the Hibernians Stadium in Paola. There will be a match on Friday, and two matches on Saturdays and Sundays. The last match of the league is scheduled for 13 May 2012.

Birkirkara will face the other eleven teams in the first two rounds in this order:
