Birkirkara in friendly match against St. Patrick's

by Ayrton Galea - 4th August 2011

Birkirkara FC's technical staff have planned a friendly match for tomorrow when they will face St. Patrick's.

Last week Birkirkara took part in the Mosta Tournament where they ended as runners up with six points out of nine. After Birkirkara lost the first match against Mosta mainly due to the large selection of foreign players on trial, then they registered two comfortable wins. They beat Tarxien Rainbows and Vittoriosa with scores of 4-1 and 5-1 respectively, with the hero for Birkirkara being Moises Avila Perez who scored a hat trick in both matches.

The aim of this friendly match is to keep the players in shape and to be part of the preparation for the Premier League which is now just two weeks away. This friendly match will also serve to see more a Serbian striker who is currently on trial with our Club.

Birkirkara will not be in full force as all the Senior and Under 21 International players will be missing in view of the National Teams commitments. Also, missing from the squad is Alan Tabone who is nursing a slight hamstring strain.

The Head Coach, Mr. Patrick Curmi, made another change in the training schedule as on Saturday the squad will not train at Golden Bay, but instead they will have a recovery session at the Radisson Hotel.

The match will be played at the Zabbar Grounds and it is scheduled to start at 20:00.
