Dragan Perisic joins Birkirkara F.C

by Ivan Mizzi - 13th October 2011

Birkirkara F.C. continued to strengthen their squad, as the latest acquisition is the Serb central defender Dragan Perisic.

Dragan was brought over to Malta in the last days of September, and since his first training session he managed to impress the technical team. It was little or no surprise that Birkirkara FC will keep the Serb defender with our Club.

In 2003-2004, Dragan was playing for the Serbia and Montenegro's side Zeleznik. After this experience, he moved for the first time abroad as he joined the Czech Republic's side Jablonec, where unfortunately he failed to earn a place in the first eleven and he only made two appearances.

The following year was far better for Dragan as he moved to Romania and joined Pandurii Tārgu Jiu where he made no less than 20 appearances.

His highlight of the career was yet to come as in 2006 he joined the Ukrainian giants Metalurh Zaporizhzhya where he spent for three season and made 33 appearances while managing to score three goals.

In the 2009-2010 season he was playing for Simurq Zaqatala in Azerbaijan while last year he was playing for the Bangladesh's side Jaik Jamail.

Dragan will be available for Saturday's match against Valletta when he is expected to make his debut, since his registration was finalised with the MFA today.

We would like to welcome Dragan and wish him all the best with our Club.
