Birkirkara FC commitee thank Mr. Buttigieg and Mr. Busutill

by Ivan Mizzi - 26th October 2011

Following yesterday's news that the Malta National Team's Head Coach Mr. John Buttigieg and his Assistant Coach Mr. Carmel Busutill had their contract terminated, the Birkirkara FC Committee would like to thank these two coaches for their service with the National Squad. The committee would like to show solidarity with these two hard working coaches, and express understanding that it is not easy to achieve the desired results at an International level within the limitations of the local scenario.

Mr. Buttigieg, Birkirkara's former Head Coach joined our Club in the 2006-2007 season when the team was in crisis following a series of negative results. Under his guidance as Head Coach the team was transformed again in a team full of determination and positive performances. With Mr. Buttigieg at the helm of the team, our Club unexpectedly won the FA Trophy in Season 2007-2008, by beating Hamrun in the final, after disposing of Velletta in the semi-final.

The committee would like to thank Mr. Buttigieg and wish him the best of luck for the future.
