Birkirkara FC's Women Team returned to winning ways yesterday by overcoming the difficult challenge offered by Gozo with a 4-2 score. This means that they opened the third and final round of the league by grabbing three precious points, after they were held in a draw by Hibernians last week.

Kim Parnis was sent off on the 70th minute. Birkirkara looked to be heading for another draw when till the 89th minute they were in a 2-2 draw, with Kelly Agius Pace having scored a brace for Birkirkara. However, thanks to two goals in the space of just three minutes scored by Rachel Cuschieri and Gabriella Zahra helped Birkirkara to register another important win.

With only five matches left, Birkirkara definitely are on the right track to win the Championship. However nothing can be taken for granted as difficult matches, especially against Hibernians and Mosta, are still to be played.
