The highly anticpated match: Birkirkara vs Valletta

by Ayrton Galea - 11th February 2012

Birkirkara will be involved in the match of the week when on Sunday, they will face Valletta.

After a disappointing run in the second run, Birkirkara bounced back with a very comfortable win when they dominated and beat Balzan Youths with a 4-0 score. Ironically enough, in this match Birkirkara scored twice as much as they scored in the previous seven matches of the second round.

On the other hand, Valletta are currently leading the table with four points clear over Hibernians. In the last match, like Birkirkara, they also registered a comfortable win when they crushed Marsaxlokk with a 5-2 score. Following the first and only defeat suffered on 25 September against Hibernians, they are unbeaten in fourteen matches.

Mr. Paul Zammit will welcome back Ryan Scicluna who is back after he was suspended in the last match.

In the first round, a balanced encounter was won by Valletta with a 2-1 score with the only goal for Birkirkara being scored by Moises Avila Perez.

The match will be played at the National Stadium at Ta' Qali and it is scheduled to kick off at 16:00. Transport from Valley Road will leave at 15:00.

There is no need to stress the importance of support in these types of matches, where like in every game, the support will be the 12th player on the pitch.

Come on the Stripes!
