Women's Team in league's last match

Birkirkara FC Women's Team, who have already made sure of the league title, will be aiming to finish the league campaign unbeaten, when in the last match of the league they face rivals Hibernians.

Birkirkara were awarded for their impressive performances throughout the whole season when on Tuesday, 6 March, they were mathematically crowned the new Champions of the Women's First Division League, thanks to a very comfortable 8-0 win over Pembroke.

This win enabled Birkirkara to register the seventeen matches unbeaten and tomorrow they will definitely be aiming to avoid a defeat to register a whole league campaign without a single defeat.

However, to do this they will have to beat a difficult test in the form of Hibernians. ‘The Peacocks' moved second in the last match as in a direct clash for the second place, they managed to beat Mosta with a narrow 1-0 win. Hibernians are with 35 points, followed by Mosta who are on 34 points. Hibernians won eleven matches, drew twice and lost thrice. They scored 59 goals while they conceded 11.

So far, these two teams met twice with the first encounter being won by Birkirkara with a 2-1 score. In the second round both teams shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

The match will be played at the Luxol Stadium and it is scheduled to kick off at 18:00.

All the supporters are encouraged to come and support the Women's Team in their last match, which will see them lift the coveted cup.
